Dottie Rambo Dies In Tour Bus Accident

2008 May 11

dottie_ramboOne of my favorite singer/songwriters, Dottie Rambo, died early this morning when her tour bus ran off the road and hit an embankment. I just stumbled across the news story and it has completely floored me.

I almost went to see her earlier this year when she was going to perform at the Kentucky Opry, but backed out at the last minute. That’s a decision that I will always regret.

Dottie’s song “He Looked Beyond My Fault And Saw My Need” will always be one of my favorites. Although it seems that most people aren’t familiar with her, she wrote over 2,500 songs that were performed by Dolly Parton, Elvis Presley, Whitney Houston, and many others.

Rest in peace, Dottie.

I loved her as well. I am sad to hear the news. I was in a band in highschool (years ago) and did a song called “I’ll never fall away from you”. Her daughter Reba Rambo had actually recorded it. They are a talented family and I’m sure she will be greatly missed.

Always loved her,and my favorite song is He Looked Beyond My Faults and Saw My Needs. Rest in peace beautiful and talented lady. Watching a special as I write this and listening to her music. On this show she is talking about how her songs come to her in the night………”If that isn’t love”,,,,,,,,,,another of her beautiful songs……….how she will be missed, but her beautiful music will live on and how we’ve all been blessed.
