Movie Reviews

We watched three movies this weekend – two on DVD and one at the theater.

Superbad (Unrated Version) – Hilarious! It was also really, really crude. Think American Pie meets Borat. My grade: B

Bug – This one starred Ashley Judd and Harry Connick, Jr. It was one of the worst movies that I’ve ever seen. The acting was brilliant; the storyline was atrocious. My grade: D

No Country For Old Men – Wow. Much more violence that I expected, but the story, acting, and cinematography were simply amazing. Tommy Lee Jones was as wonderful as always, Javier Bardem was one of the creepiest and most convincing bad guys that I’ve ever seen on film, and Josh Brolin sure can fill out a pair of Levi’s. My grade: A

I haven’t got to see Superbad yet. I was shocked to see it on the new releases list at the local library. Maybe we’re not as sheltered as we thought.

Thanks for the “No Country” review. This one I’m definitely seeing.
