Happy Thanksgiving

by Brian

I’m at Mom’s today, celebrating the holiday surrounded by family and copious amounts of food. The refrigerator was so full last night that we decided to store the cooked turkey in Mom’s car. I don’t know what we would have done if that strong cold front hadn’t blown through just in the nick of time.

I am so blessed in my life that I almost feel guilty when I point out those blessings, but I think there is a big difference between bragging and being thankful and I want to show my appreciation to God for all of the things that are so wonderful in my life.

I’m thankful for a roof over my head… when so many in the world have none.

I’m thankful for plenty of food to eat… when so many in the world are hungry.

I’m thankful for the luxury of feeling safe… when so many live in fear.

I’m thankful for having someone to love… when so much of the world seems embroiled in hatred and war.

Wherever you are
And whatever you do,
I send warm wishes
Of Thanksgiving to you.

    Brian,
Hope you had a great Thanksgiving Day, and ate as much turkey as I did.

I think it’s wonderful that you’re aware of all you have and are thankful for it. A long time ago I lost all those things, and it wasn’t until I fought to get them all back that I truly realized how precious the little things are. As always, Brian, you’ve got a beautiful mind in there.

You are such a sweetie. I always feel so fortunate for all of the things you mentioned. It’s easy to take these things for granted, but one look at the evening news, and you realize just how lucky we are. Glad your Thanksgiving was a happy one.
