The Holidays – I can’t believe it’s that time of year again. I started filling out our Christmas greeting cards yesterday and also considered putting up the tree, but thought better of it after considering how much fun Macy Gray might have destroying it while I’m at work. Any ideas on how to kitten-proof an artificial Christmas tree?

Uncle Alan – Alan’s sister had a baby girl a few days ago and he’s already in love with the little one.

Movies – I discovered that Mrs. J likes to watch movies, so I took a DVD player and some DVDs over to her house last week. Over the last several days, we’ve watched The March of the Penguins, Grumpy Old Men, Grumpier Old Men (her favorite), and Some Like It Hot.

Wow, you make me feel like I’m behind on the Holiday’s already. First I have to get a good pic of the boys to put in my cards. I have decided to take my own pic this year and put the border on at Wal-Mart or Walgreens to fancy them up. It’ll be alot cheaper. My holiday cards are on hold until I do that. I’m not going to start decorating until the inlaws leave from Thanksgiving. We’ve been blessed that our cat and kids pretty much leave the tree alone.

Congrats to Alan. Babies are so sweet. Sometimes I want to have another one. Then mine start screaming and I change my mind.

We have several family-friendly movies you can borrow to watch with Mrs. J.

Baby kitties and Christmas trees add up to trouble and plenty of it. When I was in high school, we had to hang our tree from the ceiling so that our little guy wouldn’t scamper up the trunk and hang from the tip-top until it crashed to the floor. (This happened several times before we intervened.) Whenever I go home, I look at the living room ceiling and see where the huge eye-bolt got screwed into the cross beam. It seems like just yesterday….

(Somehow I see you and Alan choosing another route!)

@ Alyson: I’m sure you’ve already got most of your shopping done, so I’m the one that’s really behind. Also, I should have a baby pic to put up soon.

@ Karen: I had actually considered somehow tying the top to something, but I didn’t want to put a hole in the ceiling. I’ve got one of those old fashioned ceramic trees, too. That might be the best option.
