Margot,

That is so cool that we ate at the same place and saw some of the same people. Perhaps we even saw each other.

You're right... Annie is beyond words. "Why" is so special to me, because it's long been one of my favorite songs and I usually listen to it at night when I'm going to sleep. There's nothing like drifting off while Annie sings you a lullaby.

Happy anniversary to you and your husband. Twenty-five years is amazing!!

My husband thought I had written this! We also drove 5 hours--although we arrived on Saturday. Ate at Jack's--and my husband, Jim, had too much brisket--as he ordered more! I also saw vampire man--but my husband didn't see him.

This was our 25th anniversary present to each other. Annie Lennox is beyond words to describe. I cried all through her last song, WHY. Her voice is incredible. She has so much compassion, grace, talent--stage presence. I loved every minute of her show---and wanted more,

We, too, considered hanging around her tour buses--but my husband urged me on. Oh, how I wish I had stayed.

Wow! When did you go, Jim?

I read online that some fans met Annie after our show and she signed things. I guess she expects it and might be sad if no one bothered to wait. However, it did feel like she had already done her "job" for the evening and might like some peace and quiet.

Wasn't "Why" delicious??? 8O

My wife and I drove five hours to see the same concert and also ate at Jack's (too much brisket for me). We also considered hanging around to see if Annie would come out, but it seemed intrusive to us too so we headed back to the hotel.

I'm glad you guys had a great time. There's something almost magical about The Ryman, although sadly, the only show I've seen there is The Jonas Brothers.

she never fails to disappoint.

@ Paul: LOL! I'm sure you didn't mean it that way, but it struck me funny.

@ ohchicken: Also check out Norah Jone's concert that was recorded there. It's a great venue!

@ Karen: I remembered most of the songs, but not the order. I found a set list from another recent concert and I could tell it was accurate, except a few songs were different. I'm still not sure I have everything exactly in order, but I think they're all in there.

You amaze me with your memory, Brian. I couldn't pull up the songs or the order again if you paid me! All I remember is the sheer bliss of it all!

Vampire Man was something right out of an Anne Rice book, that's for sure. Not so creepy but certainly interesting was the couple wearing near-identical tweed hats, Mr. and Mrs. Hat-alike. What was THAT all about?

I don't think I've ever experienced a performance as powerful as this, nor a performer who gave so much. Annie is a force to be reckoned with--voice AND soul! Thanks for instigating this, Mister Brian.

i love it! you gave me chills. i miss seeing shows at the ryman. my two faves were the live recording of oh brother where art thou "down from the mountain" and patty griffin, which ended up being the recording for her "a kiss in time" cd. the ryman is magic. sweet nashville. i miss it so much.
