First: Just curious: was [edited] the one who wrote the sign? lol

Second, I don't like when governments legislate in our personal lives either, but on things that have scientific research and involve a large group of individuals health, I do think that something should be done.
Studies do show that second hand smoke is harmful. It is a health risk.

It is kind of ironic that your work decided to just limit it in the bathrooms. Of course, alot of people smoke in the bathrooms. (where I work, people say, I have to go to the bathroom, which actually means, I am going to smoke in the bathroom!)

I, too, have tried smoking a very times in my life and have been lucky that it doesn't really do anything for me.

I don't understand why restaurants even ask "Smoking or Non-Smoking"
Techinally it is "Smoke or More Smoke" lol

I can definitely see your point and even agree with it for the most part. However, there are waitresses working in those restaurants that don't have a choice (unless they quit). The secondhand smoke is literally killing them, so I can understand the government feeling the need to step in if the business owners don't do it for themselves.

It's just a shame that some people won't take the initiative before it gets legislated.

I'm okay with private companies putting the smack down on smoking. That's their perogative, right? I'm NOT okay with goverments legislating it. (And I say this as a non-smoker.) Admittedly, I am spoiled because there is an active smoking ban where I live, but I still hate how the government removes the very idea of personal responsibility. If you want to destroy your lungs, fine. If I want to eat dinner in a non-smoky atmosphere, I will take my business to places that support that.
